The Music of the Cure

The Cure was formed in 1976 and would continue trudging thru the decades. Despite of the many major lineup changes, with the exception of the main man, Robert Smith, the band never ceased to exist and went on making hit after hit. The Cure focuses on post punk, alternative rock, gothic rock and new wave. The variation in genres itself made people loves their music through the years.

Despite the various genres, the Cure became one of the most popular alternative bands in the world during the 90’s. Matter of fact, The Cure has sold about 27 million albums since its conception. The Cure is music – making machine, making 12 albums and 30 singles in the last two years is not normal, yes, not even Justin bieber’s paid songwriters can do that. This just proves that they are a band that’s constantly working. And their hard work did pay off.

Since the band’s conception in 1976 up until 2008, they had been successful in creating and releasing 13 studio albums. Until now, despite the absence of its members, leaving Robert Smith as the only member left in the band, the albums still continue to sell. This is proof that the Cure is going nowhere and will still be popular even after the group is gone.
